OpenDiary is an anonymous journaling and community platform that allows users to write, share, and engage with diary entries. Users may choose whether their diary entries remain private or are visible to other users.

OpenDiary also provides access to independent mental health professionals through a therapist discovery and booking feature.

     2.INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Authentication information provided through Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In

  • System-generated or user-selected display name

  • Profile picture (if provided by the user)

OpenDiary does not require users to provide their real name.

2.2 User Content

We collect and store content that users voluntarily create, including:

  • Diary entries

  • Comments

  • Reactions and support messages

  • User-selected profile information

  • Therapist booking requests and notes

Users may choose whether diary entries are private or publicly visible.

2.3 Therapist Booking Information

When booking a therapist through OpenDiary, users may provide:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Mobile number

  • Preferred appointment date and time

  • Information voluntarily shared regarding concerns or reasons for seeking support

This information may be shared with the selected therapist solely for the purpose of facilitating the requested appointment.

2.4 Technical Information

We may automatically collect:

  • IP address

  • Device information

  • Country or approximate location

  • Usage information

  • Application performance and analytics data

We use services such as Firebase, Mixpanel, AWS, and related infrastructure providers to support these functions.

    3.HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use information to:

  • Provide and operate OpenDiary services

  • Authenticate users

  • Enable journaling and community participation

  • Process subscriptions and payments

  • Facilitate therapist bookings

  • Improve platform performance and user experience

  • Detect abuse, spam, fraud, or harmful activity

  • Provide customer support

    4. AI-ASSISTED FEATURES

OpenDiary may use artificial intelligence technologies to:

  • Generate diary titles or summaries

  • Categorize content

These systems assist platform functionality and moderation. AI-generated outputs may not always be accurate and should not be relied upon as professional advice.

    5. PAYMENTS

Payments are processed through third-party payment providers, including Razorpay, Apple Pay, and related payment partners.

OpenDiary does not store complete payment card details.

 

Payment providers may collect and process payment information according to their own privacy policies.

    6. THERAPIST SERVICES

OpenDiary provides a platform that enables users to discover and connect with independent therapists.

Therapists listed on OpenDiary are independent professionals and are not employees, agents, or representatives of

Kian Community Private Limited.

 

Therapy sessions take place outside the OpenDiary platform. OpenDiary is not responsible for the content, quality, outcomes, or conduct of therapy sessions provided by independent therapists.

    7.COMMUNITY CONTENT

Users may choose to publish diary entries publicly.

Public diary entries, comments, and reactions may be visible to other users of the platform.

Users should exercise caution when sharing personal information publicly.

OpenDiary cannot guarantee that other users will respond positively or appropriately to public content.

    8.MENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

OpenDiary is not a crisis intervention service and is not a substitute for professional medical, psychiatric, psychological, or emergency assistance.

Where appropriate, OpenDiary may provide access to emergency or support resources through safety-related features, including SOS resources.

Users experiencing an emergency or crisis should immediately contact local emergency services or qualified professionals.

    9.DATA SHARING

We do not sell personal information.

We may share information with:

  • Service providers and technology partners

  • Cloud hosting providers

  • Analytics providers

  • Payment processors

  • Independent therapists selected by users

  • Government authorities when required by law

    10.DATA RETENTION

Account information is generally retained while an account remains active.

When a user deletes an account, OpenDiary may retain information for up to thirty (30) days to facilitate account recovery, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or technical backup processes.

Following this period, personal information will be deleted or anonymized unless retention is required by law.

    11.INTERNATIONAL USERS

OpenDiary is available globally.

Information may be processed and stored in countries where our service providers and infrastructure partners operate.

By using OpenDiary, you consent to such transfers where permitted by applicable law.

    12.SECURITY

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

    13.CHILDREN

OpenDiary is intended for individuals aged 18 years or older.

We do not knowingly collect information from children.

If we become aware that information has been collected from a child in violation of applicable laws, we may delete such information.
