Welcome to OpenDiary
 

OpenDiary is a place where people come to express what they truly feel.

Many people write here during moments of happiness, loneliness, heartbreak, confusion, anxiety, growth, grief, and self-discovery. Behind every diary is a real human being.
 

Our goal is simple:
 

Create a space where people feel safe to express themselves and respected when they do.

By participating in OpenDiary, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines.
 

1. Be Human
 

Before writing a comment or responding to someone, remember:

There is a real person on the other side of the screen.

You may disagree with someone's thoughts, choices, or experiences, but personal attacks, insults, humiliation, or harassment are not welcome here.

Ask yourself:

"Would I say this to someone sitting in front of me?"If not, don't post it.
 

2. Support, Don't Attack
 

OpenDiary is built around sharing experiences, not attacking people.

You are encouraged to:

  • Offer support

  • Share your perspective respectfully

  • Encourage healthy discussion

  • Help people feel heard

You are not allowed to:

  • Bully others

  • Shame others

  • Mock others

  • Threaten others

  • Intentionally provoke others
     

3. Respect Different Life Experiences
 

People come from different backgrounds, cultures, countries, and experiences.

You may not always agree with what someone writes. That's okay.

Disagreement is allowed. Disrespect is not.
 

4. No Hate Speech or Discrimination
 

Content targeting individuals or groups based on:

  • Race

  • Caste

  • Ethnicity

  • Nationality

  • Religion

  • Gender

  • Sexual orientation

  • Disability

  • Any protected characteristic
     

may be removed immediately.

Accounts engaging in such behavior may be suspended or permanently banned.
 

5. No Politics or Religious Campaigning
 

OpenDiary is a platform for personal expression and life experiences.
 

It is not a platform for:

  • Political campaigning

  • Political propaganda

  • Religious conversion efforts

  • Ideological recruitment

  • Divisive social movements

Users may mention personal beliefs as part of their life story, but content primarily intended to promote political or religious agendas may be removed.
 

6. No Spam or Self-Promotion
 

Do not use OpenDiary to:

  • Advertise products

  • Promote businesses

  • Drive traffic to external websites

  • Recruit users

  • Sell services

  • Send repetitive content

OpenDiary exists for expression, not marketing.
 

7. No Adult or Explicit Content
 

Pornographic, sexually explicit, or exploitative content is not allowed.

Content that is intended primarily for sexual gratification may be removed.
 

8. Sensitive Topics
 

We understand that people may use OpenDiary to discuss:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Trauma

  • Grief

  • Loneliness

  • Self-harm thoughts

  • Emotional struggles

Such content is permitted.

However, content that glorifies, encourages, promotes, or instructs self-harm, suicide, violence, or dangerous behavior may be restricted or removed.

Some sensitive content may receive limited visibility to help maintain a safe experience for the broader community.
 

9. Comments Are Conversations, Not Professional Advice
 

Comments on OpenDiary reflect the personal opinions and experiences of individual users.

They should not be treated as:

  • Medical advice

  • Mental health advice

  • Legal advice

  • Financial advice

  • Professional advice

Always use your own judgment when engaging with community content.
 

10. Protect Your Privacy
 

OpenDiary encourages anonymous expression.

For your own safety, avoid sharing:

  • Phone numbers

  • Email addresses

  • Home addresses

  • Financial information

  • Government IDs

  • Passwords

  • Other sensitive personal information

Once information is publicly shared, others may be able to see it.
 

11. Report Harmful Content


If you encounter content that:

  • Harasses others

  • Promotes hate

  • Threatens violence

  • Contains scams

  • Violates these guidelines

Please report it.

Community safety is everyone's responsibility.


12. We May Moderate Content
 

To protect the community, OpenDiary may:

  • Hide content

  • Reduce visibility

  • Remove content

  • Restrict accounts

  • Suspend accounts

  • Permanently ban accounts

Moderation decisions are made to protect the health and safety of the community.
 

13. Help Us Build a Better Space
 

OpenDiary was created because many people struggle to express what they truly feel.

Let's build a space where people can write honestly, be heard respectfully, and leave feeling a little less alone than when they arrived.
